Digital patient information

On behalf of the Regional Cancer Center West and the Regional Cancer Center Stockholm Gotland, we have worked with doctors and researchers to produce a series of patient information films about cancer treatment.

Digital patient information can increase the value of meetings between patients and healthcare staff. Since patients can watch preparatory videos about their treatment and their first appointment at the radiation department at home, the quality and value of the meetings between patients and healthcare staff can be increased.

The concept is based on the Flipped Classroom teaching method, which means that learning opportunities can be more valuable if students, or in this case patients, can access materials in advance and use the time during the meeting to ask questions that arose while reading about the subject. We have produced three films entitled Radiation Therapy for Breast Cancer, External Radiation Therapy, and Physical Activity and Exercise During Cancer Treatment.
