Min utredning

Together with BUP Västmanland, we developed an innovative app designed to make visits to the child and adolescent psychiatric clinic less scary and complicated. The app, called Min utredning (My Assessment), is intended to help those undergoing an assessment process to understand and follow what is happening during an ongoing assessment.

Children, guardians, and investigators work together to "build" a customized investigation, and the app provides children and guardians with descriptions of events and meetings that take place during the process. While the investigation is ongoing, app users can see how far they have come and what remains to be done. There are several game mechanics that appeal to the children being investigated during the process. First, the child gets to create their own avatar and choose the hair and clothes they like. Then, the avatar walks along a path on a playful map that provides a clear and easy-to-understand picture of where they are in the investigation process.

"Min utredning" was conducted by psychologists, social workers, and doctors from the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic (BUP) in Region Västmanland.
